(TIF)Preparation of brain homogenate, S2, and P2 fractionsThe 10 (w/v) brain homogenates were prepared in 9 volumes of lysis buffer (10 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, 0.5 Nonidet P-40, 0.5 deoxycholate, 5 mM EDTA, pH 7.4) with pestle on ice. When required, brain homogenates were centrifuged at 1,000 g for 10 min at 4uC. In order to prepare S2 and P2 fractions, the supernatants (S1) were further centrifuged at 35,000 rpm (100,000 g) for 1 hour at 4uC.
